British Gymnastics has selected six gymnasts from Leatherhead & Dorking Gymnastics Club for its Team Gym Squad to represent Great Britain at the European Championships to be held in Slovenia next October.
The gymnasts Phebe Bragg, Emily Chambers, Millie Jones, Dom Sullivan ,Nick Harris and Emily Odunsi were selected following a series of national trials. Dominic and Nick will be members of the Senior Men’s Team with Phebe, Emily and Millie in the Junior Women’s Team.
This achievement follows on from the success of the club’s gymnasts winning a British title in 2014 which was recognised by the Advertiser Group when being the winners of the “Sporting Moment of the Year”.
The gymnasts train four times each week under the watchful eyes of Head Team Gym Coach Charlotte Heelas coaches Kim Skelton and Abbie McCombe.
The next major competition for these gymnasts will be the British Championship final’s at Liverpool in July the club having qualified three teams for this important national event.
